Member of Technical Staff

The role

As a small team, everyone at Servo works on a large part of the stack. This includes assembling robot hardware, data storage and processing infrastructure, model training, inference and evaluation.

We aim to hire the very best technical people regardless of background. Experience with large scale transformer models or robotics is valuable, but not a requirement. We value fearless bug hunters, first-principles thinking, and energy to do unscalable things when needed.

We offer significantly more equity than typical startups at our stage.

Example projects

• Bring robot hardware to a new task site to understand its limitations.
• Determine optimal dataset and model scales for a given training compute budget.
• Implement evaluation in simulation and compare induced rankings to real-world evalution.
• Study how increasing inference latency changes robot success rate on different tasks.
• Prototype a quick-attaching end-effector for an existing robot arm.
• Implement VLM or human data labelling pipelines for robot datasets.
